New Areas - Working on More Story Stuff


This entire week has been spent mostly spriting and mapping an entire area. I’m really happy with how this scene is turning out in all honesty.


I probably will go back and edit the dialogue for some of it, but overall, I’m happy with it. I can’t talk about much without spoiling, but you get to meet Ringo, finally! Who’s gonna be the fourth main party member for Feather Dust. I really like Ringo, and I hope you all do as well!


As for issues… there’s only one major one that I’m attempting to fix/get fixed soon. There’s a bit of an issue with one of the scripts I’m using. I never noticed in the demo version, as it doesn’t affect the player/player followers if there’s only two characters in the party; but any more than that causes the characters to overlap in a really unpleasing way under certain tiles.

Not gonna go into too much detail on this issue, as it’s a bit of a drag/drawback, but it is only a graphical glitch, thankfully. 

EDIT BEFORE I POST: I've actually managed to fix this bug for the player with a simple line of code :) - although, it's still affecting party members so I'll have to figure out some way to mitigate it.....

Sadly, I don’t have much I can share other than that. So, I guess I should talk about how different this scene is from my first draft lmao.

Because this is, in fact, a game; meaning that it’s no longer a comic, I had to find some way to make this scene a little bit more engaging. Before, they just got to the place they’re at, and found Ringo (Who was being an idiot) and immediately got out.


I decided to go ahead, and make it so you have to explore the mansion, which was a bit of a nightmare, as I ended up having to make more maps/tiles than I originally had intended, but I thought up a way to fit the place into the story which works with some ideas I have for later.

You’ll get to play as our three current party members individually, and explore the place a little bit. I’m happy with some of the things I’ve placed in here, actually.

At the time I’m writing this, the mansion and the surrounding maps are just about finished, even with eventing taken into account. I cannot wait until I can release this, (as I said before – end of this year-middle of next.) and I’m looking forward to being able to flesh this world out more/spend more time on certain things!

Once again, I’m trying to update weekly. I’m hoping to keep to that.
